Planked Internal Doors at Vibrant Doors

What Is A Planked Door?

This is truly the original door. Planked internal doors (sometimes known as ledge and brace doors) are as simple in design as they are named. Planks of oak are placed side by side either as horizontal or vertical ledges to form a sturdy yet beautiful door.

If you're looking for a traditional design but don't want to have to pay ridiculous prices for the privilege, you've come to the right place. At Vibrant Doors, we ensure that everything we stock comes from reputable brands but are available to everybody at a fantastic price.

What Is A Framed Door?

A unique construction method is used to build framed doors. The entire design is based on a central frame on one side of the door and planks are laid across them to build the finished product. The beauty of this is that you essentially get two designs for your interior doors in one.

What Is A Ledged Door?

'Ledged' is another term for framed, following the same construction method. Although formed the same way, there are various designs available to choose from, including:

  • Button bead.

  • Random planked.

  • Equal plank.

While consisting of oak, you also get to choose between engineered white oak (a door that has gone through additional processes to increase durability without upsetting the aesthetics of the design), or solid oak when you shop with us.

Creating That Country Aesthetic

Where you live shouldn't dictate the style of home you create. Whether you're converting a farmhouse or injecting a cottage-esque look into you're urban property, planked doors will help you achieve both.

If you're looking for traditional internal doors with the durability that modern styles offer, you can't go wrong with an oak plank door.

All of the new doors you find in this section of our website maintain the natural feel of the door, celebrating the grains and knots making every singly oak doorway unique. The light, airy colour of the white oak gives a 'breath of fresh air' feel that will run through the entirety of your home if you upgrade all of your doors at once.

There are even a couple of options that have more of a contemporary feel if you want to combine the best of both worlds.

Why Buy A Planked Oak Door From Vibrant Doors?

All of the oak plank doors available to buy online with us are unfinished, giving you the opportunity to add your own decoration and make them even more unique than they already are.
