Composite Doors at Vibrant Doors
What are Composite Doors?
Composite doors, or composite GRP doors, are doors made from multiple layers of different materials, including timber, uPVC and GRP. It is this mixture of materials that gives the doors the composite name. Due to their construction, composite GRP doors are incredibly durable, thermally efficient and offer a great, low-maintenance alternative to timber.
GRP stands for glass-reinforced polymer, or glass-reinforced plastic. This is the material which forms the outer layer of the door, usually moulded to give the effect of woodgrain. As a result of this, GRP composite external doors are an excellent choice for homes, as they have the look of timber, without the cost or the upkeep.

Composite Door Sizes
Most of the products in our grp composite door range can be trimmed substantially, reducing in height by 60mm (40mm off the bottom and 20mm off the top) and 40mm on the width (20mm each side).
Composite Door Colours
Our grp composite doors come in a range of colours, including black, silver grey, charcoal grey and white. Sage green is a very popular colour for doors currently, and you'll also find this in our range. All black, grey and green doors are dual colours, meaning the exterior of the door is coloured, while the interior is white, meaning that they will fit into any interior without the need to redecorate.
Why Choose a Composite Door?
We've mentioned above a couple of the benefits of composite doors, but here are some more reasons to choose them, rather than uPVC or timber:
Strength and security - Composite doors offer superior security when compared to other materials. The composite skins are much stronger than PVC. The construction of this type of door makes it incredibly strong and durable. Furthermore, all of our external doors are fitted with multi-point locking systems for extra security and peace of mind.
Style - composite doors are much more aesthetically attractive than uPVC doors. They give the look of timber, without the maintenance that goes with it. They are also available in a wide range of colours to suit any property.
Ease of installation - composite doors are easy to install/reduce in size/hinge etc. Just follow the same procedures as a timber door for trimming to size, then finish as required. As they come ready-finished, there's no need to paint composite doors (unless the door has been trimmed to fit).
Customisation - composite doors can be painted or refinished to any colour during the lifetime of the product.
Thermal efficiency - Our composite exterior doors comply with current thermal requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations (1.7 wm2/K for the solid 6pnl and 1.8wm2/K for the glazed options). Their excellent thermal efficiency makes them a great choice for
Low cost - style doesn't have to come with a premium price tag! Our composite door prices start at just £249.48.
We offer free delivery on all orders over £750 and with a 10 year guarantee on all products, you've got peace of mind that you're getting the perfect doors for your home. Find your new composite front door today!
