Crafting made to measure doors that complement dramatic transformations is what we do best. So when home influencer Jade Doutch contacted us regarding our collection of black glass doors, we were excited to see what could be achieved. Our team worked closely with Jade to create an ultra-modern bespoke glazed entrance door. The perfect addition to her Nordic inspired property in Holyhead, Anglesey.
Type ‘Jade Doutch home’ into a search engine or social media and you’ll be greeted by stunning images of what has been nicknamed a ‘Scandinavian dream home’. Jade has documented her renovation journey to her almost 600,000 Instagram followers. The incredible transformation has also been featured on Welsh TV and in the national press.
Jade was inspired to create a monochrome home after a holiday in Iceland where the look is more common. But it’s interesting to note black exteriors have been climbing the trend charts in recent years, offering a bold alternative to the grey palette that once dominated. This dramatic shift towards darker colours isn't just about aesthetics; it holds a surprising amount of functionality as a low maintenance option for busy homeowners.
After living in her property for almost two decades, Jade’s initial vision was to transform her home into a modern masterpiece. Completed by the addition of our black glazed entrance doors for her much-utilised porch area.
Experienced member of the team, Ethan, worked closely with Jade on achieving her vision. This led to the creation of a non-standard sized CLIMADOOR Black Alitherm Aluminium External Door Set with a fanlight. Ideal for generating additional natural light. For the ultimate monochromatic look, we also recommended stylish and sturdy Black Mila hardware.
The addition of a Black Crittall Style Door has enhanced both the interior and exterior of Jade’s property, flooding the entrance with daylight. The dark hues also create a striking contrast with her landscaping, allowing pops of greenery and colourful flowers to take centre stage. As seen with the final look, these modern doors are particularly well-suited for contemporary architectural styles such as Jade’s property. A great result all round.
Using black aluminium doors as an entrance makes a strong statement that perfectly complemented Jade’s dreamy interior design. But there were practical benefits too.
The slim profile design allowed for maximum light flow and visibility into the entrance zone. Even more impressive is the toughened double glazing with an energy efficient Low E coating. This provides both a secure feel and exceptional thermal performance. Just what’s needed to keep a home in Wales warm all year round.
Overall, the on trend Crittall Style Doors we recommended exude an air of elegance and drama. This makes them the ultimate accompaniment to a black home exterior such as the one chosen by Jade. And actually seeing the aluminium door in situ proves a black exterior is far from one-dimensional.
When paired with rustic textures like wood, stone, or brick, modern black door frames create a visually interesting interplay. Black steel look doors also provide a perfect backdrop for a calming neutral colour palette; introducing a sense of contrast and sleek, contemporary cool.
