What are Composite GRP Doors
Composite doors, or composite GRP doors, are doors made from multiple layers of different materials, including timber, uPVC and GRP. It is this mixture of materials that gives the doors the composite name. Due to their construction, composite GRP doors are incredibly durable, and offer a great, low-maintenance alternative to timber.
GRP stands for glass-reinforced polymer. This is the material which forms the outer layer of the door, usually moulded to give the effect of woodgrain. As a result of this, GRP composite external doors are an excellent choice for homes, as they have the look of timber, without the cost or the upkeep.

Why Choose Composite External Doors?
We've mentioned above a couple of the benefits of composite doors, but here are some more reasons to choose them, rather than uPVC or timber:
Strength and security - Composite door skins are much stronger than uPVC. The construction of this type of door makes it incredibly strong and durable. Furthermore, all of our external doors are fitted with multi-point locking systems for extra security and peace of mind.
Style - composite doors are much more aesthetically attractive than uPVC doors, while giving the look of timber, without the headaches of timber, such as warping, maintenance, expansion or contraction.
Ease of installation - composite doors are easy to install/reduce in size/hinge etc. Just follow the same procedures as a timber door for trimming to size, then finish as required. As they come ready-finished, there's no need for painting (unless the door has been trimmed to fit).
Customisation - the doors can be painted or refinished to any colour during the lifetime of the product.
Thermal efficiency - Our composite doors comply with current Thermal Requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations (1.7 wm2/K for the solid 6pnl and 1.8wm2/K for the glazed options).
