A set of traditional oak French doors will let the light flow through your home whilst maintaining an understated, classic look and feel. It’s important to find the right patio doors to suit the aesthetic of your home so if you’re after a period look, a set of French doors with Georgian bar glazing could be just the ticket. They’ll provide light and space whilst maintaining a traditional feel.
What Does 8 Lite Mean?
8 lite is the pattern of the glazing. The oak bars divide the glass panel into 8 smaller panels, which creates a French door with a traditional appearance. This effect is also known as Georgian bar, cottage style or Georgian effect. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a classic appearance with all the benefits of a modern door.
Our fantastic 8 lite effect option gives you the opportunity to change your design to a more traditional pattern with stick on astragal bars which can be applied by you on site. Simple instructions are provided on how to apply. Sets of bars are supplied for both sides of the double glazed units so that you get the bar appearance when looking from either the outside or inside of your oak French door.
There’s sure to be something to suit your needs if you choose to install a set of traditional oak French doors. They’re available in a 4ft, 5ft and 6ft opening, but can be expanded up to 10ft with a pair of sidelights. They’re glazed with tempered safety glass that has been argon filled for added thermal efficiency.
These external French doors are made from engineered oak which will look just like solid oak, but with the added benefits of increased durability, reduced expansion and contraction and improved thermal performance. They’re fully finished in the factory with a 3 coat Hi-build microporous tinted lacquer. No further finishing is required on-site so you can install straight away.
Part F and Part L compliant, with a secure multipoint locking system, fully reversible and weather tested, there’s not much more you could ask for from your oak French doors! What’s more, we can offer free delivery on these doors to most UK mainland destinations in72 hours.
Why Choose Oak?
